Valescure has belonged to our family since July 1969.

It was my father Jean-Pierre « Pitou » who had the idea of renting this house while he was studying medicine.
At the time, the property was just a farm, a former fruit and wine estate nestled among umbrella pines, olive trees, and cypresses, a stone's throw from the sublime Gigaro beach.
A summer retreat, far from the noise, where we lived barefoot, in rhythm with swimming in the sea and basking in the sun.
A family home
For almost 60 years, brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends have built a shared memory here: endless summers, meals under the trees, children walking down to the beach (I remember my cousin Nicolas pushing me to the beach in a wheelbarrow), salty returns from the sea, games of foam tennis with my brothers, and that rare feeling of being completely transported to another world.

It was also a place for parties, where my parents entertained their student friends from the Paris Medical School band « La Fanfare » , which is why the house is known as a house of sleepless nights… I remember groups of my parents’ friends sleeping all over the house, including one year on a mattress that had been placed on the hackberry tree branch in front of the kitchen.
It was a bohemian life, like a family camping trip. There was only one shower for everyone, with cold water from the river.
The property has transformed slowly, naturally.
Both of us working in the film industry—Hélène as an actress and director, and me as a producer—we have devoted a lot of time and energy to keeping this family history alive so we can continue to welcome our loved ones.
House by house, stone by stone, we have patiently restored the place, preserving its soul: antique terracotta tiles, weathered wood, and sun-faded green shutters.
Simple, authentic materials that only grow more beautiful with time. Here, nothing was designed for show. Everything was conceived to last.
Bringing together and celebrating this unique place that guests and friends call "little paradise." For the past three years, we have hosted a « Cabaret artist company » every July, perpetuating the great family history of the brass band.
Everything is about transmission.
Valescure is the perfect place to enjoy the present and create lasting memories.
